Mary Poppins
“Just think lovely thoughts, and they will lift you up in the air.”
Having grown up watching and loving Mary Poppins on the screen I had completely forgotten that the movie is based on P.L. Travers’ book series. This book popped up in discussion because one of our members watched a documentary on Travers and how she kept the Mary Poppins series close even though Walt Disney consistently asked her for the rights to make it a movie. The conversation we had during our meeting made me want to learn all I could about this special character.
