Looking Forward

2020 is almost over… Thank goodness! It’s been a challenging year for most people, and I am glad to see it go. I’m hoping that in 2021 things will return to normal.

Despite everything, there were still some positive things to take away from this abnormal year: 1) living simply; 2) spending time looking inward; 3) reading a LOT; and 4) this blog! It’s always great when there’s a take away!

I am a planner. My husband prefers not to plan things. Both ways this year worked because there was nothing to plan. We mostly stayed at home and work, cooked all our meals at home, and spent time together doing activities with the kids and catching up on tv.

Because there was nothing happening out in the world, there was an abundance of time to spend thinking about what we want to do when there are things to do again. What really matters to us? For me, spending time with family is so important. Travel is also important, and I hope we will do more exploring when things open up again.

Over the last few years my reading life has improved drastically after discovering Modern Mrs. Darcy. This year has been the best yet. Not only did I read more than I ever have, but I read books that I really loved! It truly is a fantastic feeling when you are able to know yourself in that capacity.

One very important thing that has come to fruition this year is helping heather. Starting a blog really is a huge commitment. And while I haven’t found my particular niche yet, I hope to continue working things out and keep this blog going for years!

What have you taken away from this challenging year? What do you hope to accomplish in 2021?
