Ever feel like you’re not great at anything? Me too!

In high school I took one of those aptitude tests that are supposed to tell you which areas you excel in and what careers would be viable options. The answers to your future are shown on a pie type chart. Most of my peers’ charts had one or two full wedges and several tiny pieces of pie (see illustration below). My chart was a small circle within the larger pie (again, see illustration below). I felt lost. How was it that I wasn’t good at anything? Sure, some might say that chart showed how “well rounded” I was, but to a teenager who wanted to go places and do something, that chart held no answers to my future.

Fast forward many years (but not too many), and I still feel like I’m okay at everything but not great at anything. Enter this blog. Helping Heather is a place for me to share how I am getting help doing things that I’m not great at. Hopefully you will find something here that helps you too, and if there is ever anything that you want me to find out how to do for your own sake please let me know!
