Valentine’s Goodies
Valentine’s Day is just around the corner (next weekend!). Every year I like to set out goodies for my family and make Valentine’s cookies. This year we also made Valentines for my daughter’s preschool class. She really wanted Frozen Valentines, but her school requested that they be simple, homemade Valentines. So we got out the paper and paint!
I love US Art Supply Washable Tempera Paints! They come in fun colors, are washable, and a little goes a long way. We’ve had our set for 2 years now, and there’s plenty of paint left. I had Isla paint whatever she wanted on full sheets of paper. While they dried, we made a heart template out of an old cereal box. I placed the template strategically on the paper to capture the best bits of paint, traced it, and cut out the hearts. Since she is only in preschool, she had only to sign her name on the back. Voila! Super cute Valentines! You could cut out the hearts first, but I really like the abstract look of the paint this way. And it’s less daunting to paint 4 pieces of big paper than 18 small hearts.
Pair this craft with Valentine’s sugar cookies! I love the following recipe which I found on Joy the Baker:
Do you have any Valentine’s traditions? Hugs and kisses!
