Green Things and Leprechaun Tricks
St. Patrick’s Day is Wednesday! In the past I’ve only made sure to wear green, but now that my kids are getting older it seems only right to make an attempt at something more.
My sister is the one I turned to for ideas… She married into an Irish family, and St. Patty’s is a big deal! So here are a few ideas to make the day extra special for your kids!
Lucky Charms for breakfast with green milk or pancakes/waffles/toast cut in the shape of a shamrock.
Shamrock sugar cookies or mint chip ice cream for dessert.
Leprechaun Tricks - messed up rooms, chairs upside down, clothes on the floor.
Green Things - Milk, toilet water, footprints on the floor.
Scavenger Hunt with a pot of gold (chocolate coins) at the end.
New green shirts for everyone in the family.
Get creative! One year the leprechaun painted one of the kids’ bikes green. And my sister’s house is in the middle of a long remodel, so the leprechaun was able to leave green painted footprints on the subfloor.
Does your family have any St. Patrick’s Day traditions? Please share them in the comments!
Hugs and shamrocks!
